Massive turkey legs aren't just for the state fair, oven-baked turkey drumsticks are perfect for any family gathering, such as Thanksgiving! If you're in the mood for a mouthwatering dish that's a true celebration of flavors, this recipe is just the ticket.
1 (2 lbs.) Fresh Turkey leg, thawed
If your turkey leg is frozen, place it in the refrigerator overnight to thaw.
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Gently pat dry the turkey leg, then sprinkle your preferred amount of seasonings over the turkey leg.
Line a baking dish with either foil or parchment paper, then place the seasoned turkey leg on the prepared dish.
Take the bacon slices & lay them over the turkey leg, allowing them to slightly overlap each other while tucking them under the leg.
Slide the dish into the preheated oven. Allow the turkey leg to roast for 1 hour & 45 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the leg reaches 165°F (74°C).
Baste the turkey leg in its own juices during the cooking process to keep it tender and juicy.
The cooking duration may vary depending on the size of your turkey leg, just long as the internal temperature of the turkey leg is 165°F (74°C).
